“How did you get started in Stand-Up comedy?”
What’s his answer.
“The wrong kind of friends”
In 1999, under the advice from his friends, Wayne stepped on stage at the “Star and Garter” hotel in Melbourne and hasn’t looked back. He has now performed all around the country, appeared on both Television and Film and is a veteran of the Australian comedy scene.
In Melbourne, he was an integral member of two Improvised Theatre groups and started his film career and also appeared in several television commercials.
He now resides in Sydney, where he is one of the organizers of “a mic in hand”, voted the best comedy room in Sydney by Time Out magazine. He appears regularly in many television commercials and has a major part in a film that will be released late in 2009. His talents in improvisation and his quick witted likability has seen him among the highest sort after MC’s in Sydney.
Wayne also carries a Bachelor of Music and is the current Music Director of MANCHOIR, a choir of comedians who perform a cappella versions of many popular songs. He has guided the men through many high profile gigs, including the Big Day Out, The Enmore theatre and the Sydney Opera House.
