About

Wayne Dixon

Wayne’s career in entertainment started while he was studying a Bachelor of Music at Melbourne University. In 1999, under the advice from his friends, he first stepped onto the comedy stage at the “Star and Garter” hotel in Melbourne and began a comedy career that saw him perform all around the country, appear on both Television and Film and become a veteran of the Australian comedy scene.

He relocated to Sydney in 2006, where he became one of the organisers  of a mic in hand, voted the best comedy room in Sydney by Time Out magazine.   Although he considers himself retired from the comedy industry he still appears regularly in many television commercials and the occasional film.

Wayne was also the Music Director of Manchoir (2008-2015), an choir of comedians who perform A capella versions of many popular songs.  He guided the men through many high profile gigs, including the Big Day Out,  Splendour in the Grass, and the Sydney Opera House.

In addition to all that, Wayne is also a skilled character animator and rigger. He trained online at iAnimate and was mentored by some of the World’s top animators at Dreamworks. He is responsible for many popular children’s videos on youtube, some of which have had over half a billion views and counting.
